FREDERICK DATA CENTER
On January 10, 2024, Rowan Digital Infrastructure received unanimous approval (5-0) from the Frederick County Planning Commission to develop the 300-megawatt Frederick Data Center within Quantum Loophole’s Master planned Frederick Clean Cloud Community.
SITE SPECIFIC INFORMATION
The Frederick County community reserved this property many years ago for industrial development, including data centers.
This site does not require any significant unplanned utility infrastructure to be built.
With the growing cybersecurity needs of the DC-area, this project meets that demand with its proximity to the nation’s capital.
The Frederick region is a global leader in emerging technology, with a ready workforce that can support the industry for decades to come.
LOW IMPACT, HIGH VALUE
Beyond our environmental commitments to the region, we are committed to taking the following steps to limit any potential impacts to those that live and work near the development:
We plan to build a smaller-scale facility than is allowed (one story instead of two).
We are taking concrete steps to mitigate noise and traffic impacts from development.
We are working within the Quantum Loophole “nature-first” approach to minimize any potential impacts to residents’ views.
We will be setting the development back significantly from surrounding structures.
